DirecTV is raising its prices for both satellite and streaming TV packages starting in October, but there's a catch.
The company is currently facing a blackout of popular Disney channels, including ESPN, ABC, and Disney Channel, due to a contract dispute.
DirecTV claims the price hike is necessary to stay competitive and cover the increasing costs of broadcasting content.
To soften the blow, DirecTV is offering customers a $30 credit to switch to streaming services like Sling or Fubo, which are offering a wider range of channels.
