Many of us have a strong desire to take on different identities to feel better about ourselves.

For example, I wanted to be a surfer because it seemed like a cool and athletic persona.

However, after trying it out, I discovered that it didn't bring me the joy I expected.

We need to understand that having an identity is not the same as enjoying the work it requires.
