Three US warships were attacked by Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran, while passing through the Red Sea on Friday.
The ships were targeted by a barrage of missiles and drones, but successfully defended themselves by shooting down nearly two dozen of them.
The Houthi attacks are part of a wider campaign targeting commercial and military vessels in the region.
The attacks began after a major massacre in Israel in October 2023, and have led to a significant decrease in commercial shipping through the Red Sea.
