Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) has announced a delay in its maiden flight for its RFA ONE rocket after an explosion during a static-fire test in August 2024.
The incident, which occurred at SaxaVord Spaceport in Scotland, resulted in the destruction of the rocket's first stage.
RFA attributed the explosion to a fire in the oxygen pump of one of the rocket's engines, which spread to other engines and ultimately caused a catastrophic failure.
The company plans to rebuild the rocket's first stage with significant improvements to prevent similar incidents in the future.
