A renowned Washington Post cartoonist resigned after the newspaper rejected her satirical cartoon targeting Jeff Bezos and other wealthy figures.
The cartoon depicted Bezos and others kneeling before a Donald Trump statue, symbolizing their perceived appeasement of the then President-elect.
The Post's editor claimed the rejection was due to repetition of similar content, not censorship of criticism towards their owner.
The cartoonist, however, viewed the decision as a dangerous precedent for press freedom and a reflection of concerning relationships between power and influence.
