A batch of Yaz Plus birth control pills has been recalled in South Africa because of a packaging problem.
The mistake means some packs have the wrong number of active hormonal pills, potentially impacting their effectiveness.
Women with packs from batch WEW96J (expiring March 2026) should immediately stop using them and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Bayer, the manufacturer, is addressing this issue, stressing the importance of obtaining replacement medication to maintain contraceptive protection.
