Learn English: Russian Aircraft Violates Japanese Airspace, Japan Responds (hard)

A Russian military patrol aircraft trespassed into Japanese airspace near Hokkaido three times on Monday.

In response, Japan's Self-Defense Force scrambled fighter jets and fired flares to warn the aircraft.

This is the first time Japan has used flares to counter an airspace violation.

The Japanese government has expressed its displeasure to Russia and requested that such incidents be avoided in the future.
