Pavel Durov, the founder of the popular messaging app Telegram, has been arrested in France on suspicion of serious crimes.
French authorities are investigating allegations that Telegram was used for illegal activities, including child pornography, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
Durov was detained at Le Bourget Airport outside Paris after landing from Azerbaijan.
He remains in custody and has not been formally charged, but the investigation could take years.
