A group of tourists exploring an ice canyon on the Breidamerkurjokull glacier in Iceland experienced a devastating ice collapse, resulting in one fatality and two people still missing.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, when a section of the ice canyon wall gave way, impacting four people within the group.
While two individuals were rescued, one was declared dead at the scene and another airlifted to a hospital in stable condition.
Search and rescue efforts were suspended due to darkness and hazardous conditions but are expected to resume in the morning.
