San Francisco has lost its only Denny's restaurant, a familiar sight in the Union Square area for almost 25 years.
The restaurant closed its doors at the beginning of August, citing the high cost of doing business, including vandalism and dining and dashing.
The restaurant's owner, Chris Haque, also mentioned that the decrease in conventions coming to San Francisco negatively impacted business.
Denny's confirmed the closure, expressing gratitude to its employees and the community, and highlighting the remaining 40 locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
