SpaceX, the company behind the famous Dragon spacecraft, has decided to move its splashdown operations from Florida to the West Coast.
This change comes after concerns arose about debris from the Dragon capsule's trunk section reentering the atmosphere and landing in unexpected locations.
The company discovered pieces of the Dragon trunk in Australia after a mission, highlighting a potential safety issue.
To address this, SpaceX will now conduct its splashdowns off the coast of California, where they'll have a dedicated team to recover the spacecraft.
