SpaceX has announced that Dragon capsule splashdowns will no longer occur off the coast of Florida, with the company shifting operations to the West Coast starting next year.
This move aims to reduce the risk of debris reentering the atmosphere from the Dragon capsule's trunk section.
The new splashdown location will be off the coast of California, with Long Beach serving as the base for SpaceX's West Coast recovery operations.
This decision stems from concerns about debris discovered in Australia from a previous Dragon mission, prompting SpaceX to reassess its reentry procedures.
