A massive wildfire in Jasper National Park has grown so intense that it's creating its own weather system, called a pyrocumulonimbus cloud.
These fire-generated thunderstorms are known for producing strong winds, hail, lightning, and even tornadoes, making them incredibly dangerous.
The fire has forced the evacuation of thousands of residents and tourists, and firefighters have been forced to retreat due to the toxic smoke.
The mayor described the devastation as “almost beyond comprehension,” highlighting the severity of the situation.
