Atop Mt. Rokko in Kobe, Japan, a new public toilet and garden space has been created as part of a plan to improve the mountain's appeal.
The design features a lightweight wooden roof that appears to float above a large bench, resembling a piece of furniture.
The structure blends seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment, using materials that harmonize with the colors of the trees and the landscape.
The toilet/rest space is accessible even in rainy weather thanks to its deep eaves and the use of durable, locally sourced woods, including cedar and cypress.
