At least 26 pilot whales sadly passed away when they got stranded on the shores of Western Australia.
Wildlife rescue teams, volunteers, and authorities worked together to rescue many of the whales.
Scientists are still unsure why these mass strandings happen, but they suspect that the whales may follow each other too close to shore.
The whales' unusual behavior might also be a sign of stress or illness within their group.
