A former Chilean firefighter has been arrested for allegedly starting a forest fire in February that killed 137 people and destroyed thousands of homes.
The suspect, a 39-year-old volunteer firefighter, is accused of intentionally setting one of four fires that broke out near Viña del Mar.
Police believe the man started the fire because he felt a thrill of being a hero and wanted to be involved in emergency situations.
This is the third arrest in connection with the devastating blaze, as authorities suspect the three individuals had planned to profit from the resulting overtime work.
