Alice Guo, a former mayor of Bamban, Philippines, has been arrested in Indonesia after weeks on the run, accused of spying for China.
Guo was accused of protecting online casinos that served as fronts for scam centers and human trafficking operations in her town.
Philippine authorities pursued Guo across four countries, believing she slipped past border checks with the help of boats.
Guo denies the allegations and claims she is a Filipino citizen, but officials are coordinating her return to the Philippines.
