The Writer's Guild of America (WGA) is preventing its members from working on a new Martin Scorsese-produced disaster movie.
Producer Randall Emmett, known for past conflicts with the WGA, has a history of failing to meet financial obligations to writers.
Emmett's company, Convergence Entertainment, hasn't signed the guild's agreement, leading to this current work stoppage.
The WGA is urging its members to avoid any involvement with Emmett's projects until the dispute is resolved.
