Former Peruvian president Ollanta Humala has been found guilty of money laundering and sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment.
A Lima court determined that Humala illegally received funds from Odebrecht, a Brazilian construction firm, for his presidential campaigns.
His wife, Nadine Heredia, received the same sentence for her involvement in the illicit campaign financing.
The lengthy trial concluded with the verdict, delivered on Tuesday, after Humala and Heredia denied all wrongdoing.
