A United Airlines flight from Houston to New York experienced a frightening engine fire before takeoff on Sunday morning.

Video footage clearly showed smoke and flames erupting from one of the plane's engines while on the runway.

All 104 passengers and crew members safely evacuated the aircraft via slides and stairs without reported injuries.

The passengers were subsequently accommodated on a later flight, and investigations into the incident are underway.
