Lahore, Pakistan's second-largest city, is facing extremely high levels of air pollution, prompting authorities to close primary schools for a week.
The city's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a record high on Sunday, exceeding 1,000, which is considered hazardous.
The pollution levels have been so severe that they are beyond the classification range, according to a local environmental lawyer.
Lahore consistently ranks among the most polluted cities globally, with its residents experiencing a significant reduction in life expectancy due to poor air quality.
