A group of Turkish nationalists ambushed and attacked U.S. Marines in Izmir, Turkey, on Monday, leading to the arrest of 15 individuals.
The assailants, members of the Youth Union of Turkey, shouted "Yankee, go home!" and accused the Marines of supporting Israel, citing the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
The incident, which was captured on video, shows the Marines being restrained and subjected to verbal abuse by the mob.
The U.S. Embassy in Turkey confirmed the incident and expressed gratitude to Turkish authorities for their swift response and investigation.
