A beluga whale, nicknamed Hvaldimir, has been found dead off the coast of Norway.
Hvaldimir had been spotted in Norwegian waters five years ago, wearing a harness with a GoPro camera and a label reading 'Equipment of St Petersburg'.
Experts suspected that the whale had been trained by the Russian army as a spy, but Moscow never responded to the allegations.
The cause of Hvaldimir's death is unknown, but officials are planning a necropsy to investigate.
