Archaeologists in Oslo, Norway, have unearthed a rare iron gauntlet dating back to the 14th century during excavations in Bispevika.
The gauntlet, which would have been used to protect the hand and wrist during combat, was discovered underwater and is considered an extremely expensive object for its time.
Experts believe the gauntlet was likely lost in the fjord, as its location and condition suggest it was not intentionally discarded.
The discovery provides valuable insights into the history of medieval Oslo and the use of armor during that period.
