US Vice-President Kamala Harris has officially secured the Democratic presidential nomination, surpassing the required number of delegates.
This makes her the first black woman and first South Asian woman to become the presidential nominee for a major US political party.
Harris will now face Republican nominee Donald Trump in the November election, with the winner becoming the next President of the United States.
She won the nomination after President Joe Biden stepped aside and endorsed her, with the virtual roll call completing on Monday.
