X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, has added a new privacy setting that allows users to opt out of their data being used to train Grok, an AI developed by another Musk company.
The setting is turned on by default, and users can currently only disable it on the web version of X.
The Irish Data Protection Commission has expressed concerns about the new setting and sent questions to X seeking clarification.
The regulator is investigating X for potential compliance violations in multiple cases, which could result in fines of up to 4% of the company's annual revenue.
