Intuit, a company that makes business and finance software, announced it will lay off 1,800 employees, about 10% of its workforce.
The company plans to focus more on artificial intelligence (AI) and will use the savings to invest in new AI-powered products and services.
Intuit intends to rehire 1,800 people in roles related to engineering, product development, and customer service.
Intuit expects its overall staff size to increase starting in its 2025 fiscal year, which begins in August.
