As the Russian invasion continues, Kyiv's Saint Sophia Cathedral, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and Lviv's historic centre are now on Unesco's endangered list.
The decision was made at a Unesco World Heritage Committee meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The committee recognized that despite efforts to protect the sites, they are no longer fully guaranteed and are threatened by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
These sites, including the Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, have significant historical and cultural value.
