The UK's first satellite, Skynet-1A, was launched in 1969 to relay communications for British forces.
However, it ended up thousands of miles away from its intended location, above the Americas, instead of over the Indian Ocean.
Experts believe the satellite was purposefully moved in the 1970s, but there's no record of who ordered the maneuver.
This raises concerns about the safety of other satellites as Skynet-1A now poses a collision risk in its current location.
