The Chicago Cubs have decided to let go of Seiya Suzuki's interpreter, Toy Matsushita, who has been with the team since Suzuki joined in 2022.
Manager Craig Counsell emphasized that the team feels confident in their ability to effectively support Suzuki moving forward, even without Matsushita.
While Suzuki's performance hasn't been strong this season, Counsell stressed that the dismissal was not related to his performance on the field.
The Cubs will now rely on Nao Masamoto and Edwin Stanberry to assist Suzuki with communication and understanding, taking over Matsushita's role.
