The Chicago Cubs have made the decision to let go of Seiya Suzuki's interpreter, Toy Matsushita, ahead of their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Manager Craig Counsell explained that the team feels they can provide adequate support for Suzuki without Matsushita, having developed a strong system with other individuals.
While Suzuki is not performing at his best this season, Counsell emphasized that the dismissal was not related to Suzuki's performance.
The Cubs will utilize Nao Masamoto and Edwin Stanberry to assist Suzuki going forward, effectively replacing Matsushita's role.
