Macy's, the big store with lots of clothes and toys, said no to a deal where another company would buy it.
The company thinks the deal wouldn't be good for its customers and wouldn't help them make more money.
Instead, Macy's is going to fix things up by closing some stores that aren't doing well and making the other stores even better.
They also want to make their fancy stores, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury, bigger and more fun to shop in!
