The UK is facing its worst wildfire season on record, with the total area burned already exceeding previous years dramatically.
More than 29,200 hectares have been devastated by wildfires this year, surpassing the 2019 record by a considerable amount.
Unusually dry and sunny weather in March and April created perfect conditions for these catastrophic events.
While recent rain has reduced immediate risks, experts worry about the potential for even larger fires later in the year.
