I found some pretty old plates and cups at a thrift store, and I wondered if they were safe to use.

I used a special test kit to check if the plates and cups had lead paint, a dangerous kind of paint.

Some of my cups had lead paint; lead is dangerous, so we should never eat or drink from dishes with lead.
