The US government has prevented a British court hearing from taking place on a British territory, citing security concerns.
The hearing, which was scheduled to occur on the island of Diego Garcia, involved a group of migrants who claim to be unlawfully detained.
The US withdrew consent for lawyers and journalists to access the island, stating it would not provide transportation or accommodation until its concerns were addressed.
The court has now postponed the hearing and will determine the next steps in the UK.
