American Airlines has suspended employees after three black men were removed from a flight in January following a complaint about body odour.
The men, who were not seated together, filed a lawsuit in May claiming racial discrimination and stating that they were unfairly targeted.
American Airlines CEO Robert Isom expressed regret and stated that the company failed to meet its customer commitments in this incident.
The airline is implementing new initiatives, including an advisory group focused on the experience of black passengers, to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
