Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has again called for the return of Indigenous artifacts currently held by the Vatican Museums.
Trudeau met with Pope Francis during the G7 summit in Italy and reiterated his request for the repatriation of these culturally significant objects.
The call for the return of the artifacts comes after an investigation revealed that little progress has been made on the issue, despite previous promises from the Catholic Church.
The investigation also found that the extent of the Vatican's collection of Indigenous items remains largely unknown.
