Lamor Whitehead, a pastor known as the 'Bling Bishop' because of his flashy lifestyle, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for fraud and extortion.
Prosecutors proved that Whitehead used his position of power to cheat people out of money, promising to help them while actually enriching himself.
One of his victims, a member of his own church, gave him her life savings, thinking it would go towards buying a home for her, but Whitehead spent it on himself.
He also tried to extort money from a businessman by claiming he had connections, but the scheme was uncovered and he was convicted.
